In Water Adventures
Although some Kiwis don’t like to admit it, we do actually get a winter in New Zealand…sorry guys! The water can get a bit chillier and the Southerlies can get a bit stronger. Now that’s not an excuse to let your gear dry off in the garage for 4 months. Winter diving has its own charm and we’ll be out there rain, hail or Southerly to prove this to you. The diving is still fantastic, the viz can be amazing, there’s plenty more opportunity for Night Diving and, if you’re still not convinced, there’s always the option of a drysuit to keep you cozy. All this said, some people still take a little bit more encouragement to willfully don a wetsuit and keep up their enthusiasm for the good sport during the winter months.
So what do we do to remedy the situation and make sure there isn’t shameful amounts of lonely dive gear hanging in the garages of Wellington?…we organise trips of course…some to warmer waters…some to the slightly more challenging local waters…but its all good fun!
